English Vocabulary Improvement through Word List in Audio (MP3)
Is English your biggest hurdle?
Prelims 2013 result was very unique in the sense that the number of student qualifying from Hindi background reduced to unprecedented low level. After mains and interview there will be handful of people left from the Hindi background, so is the case with the other regional language.
The few proud Hindi medium Aspirants who will manage to crack it would have worked hard in English, means they accepted English and worked hard to improve it instead of trying to qualify without it .
There is a lot of time left in the next prelims , so its more than advisable to accept English , do not run away from it and start preparing word by word.
A building is made of bricks,without bricks the building will only be made in your day dreams.
The building bricks of English are words , if you know some words, say 200-500 you can utilize these very few word to express your ideas in a simple and effective manner.
So the real question remains , when you will start accumulating bricks(words) ? So that one day you have enough bricks(words) to build a home(command over English).

You will say I have started so many times ,its difficult to remember words, then I will ask you a question.
How do you know 50+50=100? you remembered it right.
Think about how many useless things you remember without even thinking about remembering them.
So the conclusion is that your mind is playing games with you. Your own mind , which should serve you, which should obey you, which should do whatever you want to do. Your mind is tricking you or I may say you are tricking yourself to remember those things.
You remember what is interesting, yo remember what you do repeatedly. So if English is not the thing you find interesting, there is only one choice left, repetition.
Learn a word and use it repetitively, you will remember it for life.
Some say now a days UPSC is not the game of memory, I would disagree. Everything is the game of memory , your mind finds a logical solution of the problem through the knowledge stored in the memory, It interprets and tries different combination of procedures and then finds a solution.
The mother of all solution is memory.
Below you can find words list in voice format, you will not read it but listen to it , in the time when you can not study, like walking to your office, jogging, going somewhere etc.
Listen to it as many times as possible , one day you will tame English ,and make her your pet :P
Note :: If your find mistakes(in the article ) it will prove that I have written it by myself and not copy pasted. :P
